About Meeting Of Styles

Throughout the years, the International Wall Street Meeting has welcomed in Wiesbaden, Germany, about 25.000 visitors from all over Europe and the rest of the world. Because of its uncommercial and authentical style, but also because of its message (Youthculture needs space for expression) the Meeting is mentioned as one of the best events in Hip-Hop-Culture ever happened.

Because of its worldwide reputation and the great feedback the idea was born to spread its message all over Europe which led us to the founding of the Int. Meeting Of Styles. In cooperation with partners we organised Meetings across Europe over to USA. In 2005 the event happened in 14 cities across 13 countries and attracted around 20.000 people to experience Graffiti- and Hip-Hop-Culture on its highest level. Madrid, Lyon, Copenhagen, Mexico, Zagreb, Rio and New York have all recently hosted the event.

About Meeting Of Styles Montreal

In 2006, another premier has happened in Montreal - Canada. The city is famous for its liberal attitude and life-style. The Montreal graff scene is boomin' and has a long history of activities. Several jams supported the scene and pushed it hard ( Check out Underpressure.ca ) .

Friday, September 1st 2006, many of the artists met at the location where the walls would be painted throughout the weekend, corner Bleury/St-Catherine. Some knew each other, many were meeting for the first time. Artists from Porto-Rico, Paris, New York, Boston, Toronto and Montreal took part in the event. After sketching out roughly what they would start to paint the next morning, they walked up St-Laurent to get their food and drinks on at Le Kopshop. The BBQ event was hype.
Saturday & Sunday, they painted the walls. Despite the bad weather, more than 60 muralists worked seriously & with professionalism. More than 6500 people came and watched them work. There was a lot of action downtown, during the labor day weekend: Film festival, Musique Plus’ open doors, back to school shopping. The music & visual impact of the Meeting Of Styles caught the eye of the passer-by.
The night events on Saturday and Sunday gave the occasion to the artists and party goers to meet and hang out. Saturday, a private party in  a downtown loft ended early in the morning. Sunday, a poster exhibit presented by Sharpie closed this first edition of the event.

MEETING OF STYLES STRIKES BACK. STILL HOMEGROWN AND HUSTLED HARD. CLEANER THAN EVER.
