THE LIFE & CRIMES OF NESAR SVC

Nesar is known for being all-city, and maintaining. Here's his interview with 00G.

00G: Who are you & what are you doing later today?

Nesar: I'm Nesar, SVC TFB TFO crews. Later today in chronological order I will : 1) eat fried chicken, 2) get drunk with my peoples, 3) go clubbing and try to get women but instead get beef and have a fistfight, 4) go bombing and dirtying my new white coat and 5) passing out in a bus shelter near you.

Do you paint & why?

Yeah I paint, I do it cuz I love the graff game and everything that comes with it. It's therapy for me, nothing makes you feel better than going out and writing your name in big juicy drips on a clean surface. This shit runs in my blood like heroin to a fiend, I've been doing it for 10 years strong and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Where have you been?

I'm a born and bred Montrealer, so this is where I lay my graff foundations. But I've painted in Toronto, Quebec City, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin and Rome.

Where are you going?

I'm trying to go anywhere I can, except for Bordeaux prison or the Urgel Bourgie funeral home.

What's your favorite crime?

My favorite crimes are the ones where you don't get caught.

Creation or destruction, which pays off the most?

Both go hand in hand, it's about how you get creative by destroying. And when I say creative I'm strictly talking about lettering and how you exploit a spot, not that artsy fartsy mean streak bullshit we see too often on the street. That's not graffiti to me, art maybe.. but not graff. Going over someone's tag or throwup with a wheatpaste poster or a weird drawn face is a No-No in my book.

Can a throwup be painted on a canvas & hung in a gallery?

Yea i got no problems with that as long as the writer being represented has paid his dues in the street. I got a hustler mentality, so I cant knock the next man's way to get money. Do what you gotta do to get paid, just as long as you also keep it street and dont sellout.

....Would you pay to buy one? Could we pay you to paint one?

Nah I wouldn't buy one cuz canvases arent really my thing. If some of my boys paint me one and give it to me as a present I'll hang it on my wall tho, cuz they my peoples. As for paying me to paint one, why not.. if a person is ready to give me some bills for 10 minutes of work I'm down to get paid. Im not an artist so I cant do those fancy canvases with details and shit, but a throwup is all good. Like I said, its all about the hustle.

Internet, what's up with that?

The internet is good and bad. It's good for making connections around the world and seeing shit you would never see in your life if it wasn't for the net. It's also bad because it portrays false representation of graffiti scenes around the world. People don't need to go all city or put in work anymore to get fame, they just take a few nice flicks and spam it on the net. Also, it makes the people lazy, you see everything with just a click of the button. Graff is all about walking routes and going into different neighborhoods and seeing the spots done in real life. A flick is cool but it takes away the magic of really being in front of the actual spot and feeling the vibe of that street corner or area.

Money, what's up with that?

Money is what makes the world go round. Some people would sell their soul for that paper.. I'd rather sell my hustle and hard work.

Any shoutouts, promo, beefs?

Shout outs to the SVC 124 fam, TFB Serial Fillers, Trife Life, HSP, DA, 156, Decarie Guns, JKR, EC, OCT, NME, TFO, all of Montreal's hungry youngins on the come up, and everyone I ever chilled with, painted with or been through trials and tribulations with. Holla at the kid. 1.
